Such a great easy to use meat alternative, we made a delicious meal of nachos, and it was divine!

Passed this onto Vegan family members and the raved about how amazing this was. I do know they have purchased again and it has become a regular item on their menu.

something you have to get used to

I like vegetarian and vegan foods (I'm more of a Flexitarian) but this one was a bit flat, you need to add a lot of flavourings to get the oomph and personally I prefer to use brown lentils as a meat substitute. It wasn't horrible but the general consesus in our house was they didn't like the texture and didn't get the flavour.

My family did not like this, I nearly got disowned trying to plate this up for them, I should have tried to disguise it better.

Interesting first try of a meat equivalent product - enjoyed it, but not necessarily as a meat equivalent... I'd purchase it, specifically, as a mushroom mince - to use in a pasta. Not because it's meat alternative.

Good meat alternative, surprisingly good 'meaty' taste.

As a meat fan it was a bit of a hard sell and found the taste would take a bit of getting used to! More recipes/ideas as to what you can do with the product would have been helpful.

This came with a couple of recipes which looked promising. We tried one and found that the mince was difficult to brown as it was quite mushy. Once the dish was put together there was little substance as the mince didn't have a nice texture to eat and very little flavour. None of the family could eat the dish.

Although I didn't really enjoy the Magic Mince, I'm not sure I prepared it properly so I'm going to buy it and try again. (It was okay in a pasta sauce, but I think that frying it off in a *very* hot pan will make a lot of difference.)

My "boys" loved this. I suspect if I had not told them it was not meat they would never have known. Fried with garlic, chilli and canned tomato plus tomato paste, added stir fry veges and served with cauliflower rice.

Interesting flavour with the hemp. I found it a bit too soft but my vegan friends loved it. Really easy to use as a mince alternative. We made delicious bao buns with it.

I used this for a vegan mince in a spat bol recipe. It was a bit soggy even though I fried it off for ages but the overall flavour was good...admittedly I added lots to it but we enjoyed.

I was not a fan. And I love meat alternative products. I buy them all the time. Was bland and mushy and didn’t fry like mince at all. I had to add a lot of spices and salt to it and I don’t think it’s wise from a marketing perspective to show the product itself from the outside in as it looks quite gross. Plus that it’s shaped like ground beef, not sure that helped.

I find this difficult to review as personally I don't like mushrooms. The rest of the family enjoyed this mince. I wouldn't personally buy but would recommend for mushroom lovers, non meat eaters and vegans.

This was difficult to make into burgers, as the patties fell apart, even when using binders. The “meat”balls I made went down well with my vegetarian guests. I needed egg to make the “meat”balls bind, so I would probably use it in tacos with my vegan guests.

Flavour was fine as it absorbed the tomato goodness for my Bolognese but the texture is a bit like mushy bread, which is often the case for meat alternatives. If you can get over that, its a great option for people who don't eat meat or want to reduce their meat intake but still have traditional meat based meals.

This is a product I would bypass in a supermarket however after trying it I would definitely buy in the future as it is a healthy alternative to red meat. It was ok and edible. It was very strong in the mushroom flavour department. It tasted and felt a lot like mushrooms that had gone through the mincer and didn't cook very well as 'mince' - it became quite clunky in the pan. We cooked ours as Spag Bol and it didn't go down well with our vegetarian kid. Perhaps if we cooked as a shepards pie or something we may have had better luck?
