I actually got my daughter to trial this and she was very impressed with the ease of use and also how lovely it left her hair.

+ PROS: Compact to keep in the shower and also for travel. Leaves the hair feeling lovely.
- CONS: The cost is up there

I have fairly curly longish hair and was pretty skeptical but have been pleasantly surprised but this product - great lather. I have been trialing with the conditioning bar as well my hair seems to be a little curlier than usual - less leftovers weighing it down I guess. My girls weren't keen on it - said their hair felt quite dry. I like the environmentally friendly aspect and it smells pretty good too. A good option for travelling/camping though.

- CONS: Not suitable for whole family

Took a wee while to get my head around this, as my shampoo comes out of a bottle. Left my hair feeling matted. Don't think it suits all hair types

I've read some of the reviews and feel a bit disappointed to say I didn't enjoy this product the same as many other reviewers. It was a product I'd been wanting to try for some time so was very happy to find the Shampoo and Conditioner bar in the Black Box, however both myself and my teen found it difficult to get a decent lather up and it left our hair like straw on the ends and greasy at the roots. The nail in the coffin was when my Mum arrived and said my hair looked terrible. :-( I am very happy to have had the opportunity to try it though. Love the Eco-friendly products as a rule.

+ PROS: Pleasant smell and environmentally friendly.
- CONS: Not good for all hair types unfortunately.

I was actually surprised because I thought it would be difficult to use however it was the complete opposite. Our family have different hair types with mine being dry, wife coloured & daughter long & normal so the fact it worked for all of us was amazing. It certainly left dry hair feeling clean without it ending up like coarse rope & the conditioner bar seemed to revitalize it to.

+ PROS: Great size & easy to use. Environmentally friendly. Performed well on dry hair.
- CONS: Took a little getting used to using initially but minor.

I'm converted!, I have curly, dry hair and have always been put off bar hair products as always thought of them as soap but these products make your hair feel so clean, easy, mess free and fab scent.

+ PROS: No spillage Smell Gentle Environmentally friendly

The whole family tried out the shampoo bar as it was quite a novelty for the kids. It has a lovely scent and cleans really well. It is such a fantastic way for everyone to use less plastic.

Love. Love. Love. This concept. I haven't tried them before, but wanted to, so receiving this in the Black Box was such a treat. Even my husband joined in the testing. I loved the shampoo bar and honestly just wanted to wash my hair over and over with it.

+ PROS: Sustainability product. Great lather. Clean shiny hair. Lovely subtle scent.

This is a product I would not usually buy as I’ve got very delicate hair and only purchase premium products from the hairdressers. However, I was pleasantly surprised. It was easy to use and my hair felt and looked good afterwards.

+ PROS: No plastic packaging. Would be great to take on holiday as no risk of leaking in the toilet bag!
- CONS: I felt it dragged a bit when I applied it directly to my hair so lathered it in my hands first.

I love the idea of a shampoo bar—way less waste. The smell was nice, and it lathered up well. My hair was lovely and clean afterwards. My one concern was it seemed to strip some of the colour from my hair. I usually use gently shampoo for coloured hair—so I’m not sure I would use this again unless there’s a version for coloured hair.

I have never tried a shampoo bar before. Always meant to but the cost put me off. I’m now glad I have tried one as I realise they last a long time and my hair did feel nice afterwards.

I was extremely hesitant to try this, I found it lovely to use lathered up well and a Devine smell.I expected it to tangle my hair and it didn’t. I already use natural products so was a win for me!!

Pleasantly surprised with this shampoo. Both my daughter and I tried this. She has thick curly hair and I have straight hair. It worked well on both, lathered well. I highly recommend this product.

A really good product! Have never tried shampoo bars but would definitely consider them in the future. You got a really good lather up and would be great for wee kids as there would be way less wastage. Worked well for our whole family, even for the two kids who get itchy scalps and are quite sensitive to shampoos. Would be really good when travelling as they would take up less space.

Just bloody marvelous product. I have two granddaughters and over the Easter weekend we caravanned in the Corrmandel. This was so convenient to have a shampoo bar instead of carrying bottles. The girls loved the smell of their hair. I too purchase Eco store products for my home and will definitely buy this product for my batch and caravanning!!!

I buy Ecostore soap exclusively and was very happy to be able to try out this shampoo bar...well, the female part of the household were in any case seeing as I have nothing to shampoo myself. The verdict was highly positive, surprising given that they are extremely fussy with their hair products, they liked the smell, the wash and the feeling their hair was left in afterwards. While not likely to be a replacement for their regular shampoo, these will definitely form part of their travel kits which are used frequently.

Fantastic product. Takes a little getting use to using a bar to wash your hair but love the fact there is no plastic bottle! The smell of the shampoo is lovely and I was pleasantly surprised to feel it didn’t dry my hair out, my hair was nice and sleek. Great that it is a vegan product too (not that I am vegan).

Love EcoStore products, regular purchaser. Love the are NZ Made and environmentally conscious. I have used Ecostore Shampoo bars before and love the concept of less packaging and a better value product. Love the smell and feel of the shampoo. I do struggle to get enough lather in my hair sometimes and feel like I use more product than I need compared to getting it out of a bottle, but that is user error as opposed to product design. Highly recommend and support Ecostore products and am a huge fan.

+ PROS: Less packaging Great smell NZ Made company and product with great ethical values
- CONS: I still haven't perfected how to use the shampoo and conditioner bars in the shower without feeling like I am wasting product. Maybe more suited for bath use only!
